1. Introduction

Welcome to SharpeShare.com (“SharpeShare,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website, services, or applications (collectively, the “Service”).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

By using SharpeShare or clicking accept, you acknowledge and agree to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: Your email address, Google account ID and profile picture, received through Google Sign-In. We never receive or store a password.
  • Brokerage and Portfolio Data: Portfolio holdings, transactions, securities, account metadata, balances, and related financial records received through connected brokerage integrations such as Plaid.
  • Payment Information: If you start a trial or subscribe to a paid plan, payment and billing details are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details.
  • Support Requests: Any information you provide when contacting customer support.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and pages viewed.
  • Cookies & Analytics: We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which set cookies, to see how people use the site: pages visited, clicks, scrolling, device and browser. Clarity also records visits as replays and heatmaps. On pages that show your account or a connected portfolio, Clarity hides all text and numbers, so a replay shows the layout but not your data; the page address and title are still recorded. Analytics events such as sign-up, trial start and payment carry our internal account number and, for trial starts and payments, Stripe's reference numbers (plus the amount for payments), never your name, email or portfolio values.
  • Referral Information: When you first visit us (for example from another website or an ad), a cookie records how you found us (the referring website's domain, campaign tags in the link, an ad click identifier, and the page you arrived on and when) for up to 90 days. If you sign up, we save this with your account, along with your Google Analytics identifier.

2.3 Third-Party Data Collection

If you connect SharpeShare to third-party services such as Google Sign-In, Plaid, Stripe, or brokerage integrations, we may receive information from those services according to your authorization and their privacy policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To Provide & Improve the Service: Analyze brokerage and portfolio data, calculate metrics, compare performance to benchmarks, generate charts and shareable portfolio pages, and improve user experience.
  • To Understand How People Find Us: Count sign-ups, trials and subscriptions by the website or ad campaign they came from.
  • To Process Payments: Manage paid plan subscriptions and billing.
  • To Ensure Security: Detect fraud, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
  • To Communicate with You: Reply to your support requests and feedback, and occasionally email you about your account and SharpeShare: for example, to help you finish setting up, offer a trial extension or discount, or ask for feedback or a short interview.
  • For Legal Compliance: Meet regulatory obligations and respond to legal requests.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. However, we may share data in the following cases:

4.1 With Service Providers

We work with third-party vendors to operate the platform, such as payment processors, cloud hosting providers, analytics tools, authentication providers, brokerage connectivity providers, and market data providers. They may access information only as needed to provide services to us.

These include Google (sign-in and Google Analytics), Microsoft (Clarity), Plaid (brokerage connections), Stripe (payments), Render (hosting) and Sentry (error reports). If you arrive from a Google ad, Google Analytics may tell our Google Ads account that the visit led to a sign-up, trial or payment. Ad personalization is turned off for this link.

4.2 With Other Users

You choose whether each portfolio is public or private, and new portfolios are private. A private portfolio is visible only to you, except that SharpeShare support may view it only to resolve errors or support requests.

  • Public Portfolios: Anyone with the link can view a public portfolio, and it may appear in search results. It shows what you see: exact dollar values, cash, share quantities, deposits and withdrawals, transaction history, charts and metrics, plus the portfolio's name and description. The name starts as your broker's name for the account, and you can change it. A public portfolio never shows your name, email or account number.
  • Share Images: A share image you create appears only in your browser; SharpeShare doesn't post or store it. If you post it elsewhere, it's visible wherever you post it.

4.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect SharpeShare’s rights, security, or operations.

5. Data Retention & Security

5.1 Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed for legal and operational purposes. If you ask us to delete your account, we cancel any subscription, end your brokerage connections through Plaid, and delete your account, portfolios and brokerage data, unless we must keep something for legal reasons. Records held by Stripe (billing) and by our analytics providers follow their own retention rules.

5.2 Security Measures

We protect your data with these measures: connections to the Service use HTTPS; you sign in through Google; brokerage access through Plaid is read-only, so SharpeShare cannot trade, move money or change anything in your account; and the connection token Plaid issues for your account is stored encrypted. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights & Choices

6.1 Managing Your Information

  • To delete your account, email support@sharpeshare.com from the email address you sign in with.
  • Stop the occasional emails about your account and SharpeShare at any time by replying to one or emailing support@sharpeshare.com; we'll stop within 10 business days.

6.2 Data Access & Deletion Requests

You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us at support@sharpeshare.com.

6.3 Cookies & Tracking Controls

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking SharpeShare's own cookies stops sign-in from working; blocking analytics cookies doesn't affect the Service. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.

7. Third-Party Links & Services

SharpeShare may link to third-party sites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.

8. Children's Privacy

SharpeShare is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover a minor has submitted data, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will update the effective date above and ask signed-in users to accept the updated policy before they continue.
