How Portfolio Drivers Are Calculated
Portfolio Drivers estimates how your current portfolio would have performed if today's holdings and weights had been held throughout the prior year.
Return Contribution
Shows how much each holding contributed to the portfolio's estimated return based on its portfolio weight and historical return.
Risk Contribution
Shows how much each holding influenced the portfolio's estimated volatility.
Unlike standalone volatility, this also considers how each holding moved relative to the rest of the portfolio. A negative risk contribution means the holding reduced estimated portfolio volatility during the selected period because its returns offset some of the movement in other holdings.
